Floral motifs are a typical way for me to decorate artworks, regardless of the method: I have sculpted them in clay reliefs onto the surface of the pieces, painted them with gold onto glazed surfaces, and decal-adorned porcelain surfaces with them.

Recently, the flowers have transitioned from being mere details on sculptures to becoming standalone pieces, arranged into their own clusters on the wall. Flowers as a theme are ancient and commonly associated with ceramic traditions. The shiny glazed flowers bring to mind the decorative motifs of domestic tile stoves or ceramic ornamental plates. Ceramic traditions are important to me. They serve as an anchor in my works.

Ceramic as a material is everlasting, and pottery shards are a typical find in archaeological excavations. With floral motifs, I seek to evoke an ode to spring, making summer eternal: ceramic flowers do not wither.
